Do not let "poison plastic" into the recycling system

There are two root causes of poison plastic problem. First, certain types of plastic under certain conditions, itself is toxic. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is the most typical one. Although this artificial resin itself is non-toxic, its raw material vinyl chloride monomer is a known human carcinogen. Scientific research shows that not only some PVC plastic products will have a certain vinyl chloride monomer residues, in some physical and chemical conditions, such as the regeneration of the melting process, there will be more vinyl chloride monomer is released.

The intentional addition of toxic chemicals is another major cause of toxic plastics. In order to obtain specific properties of plastics, their products perform specific functions. Plastic manufacturers can add various chemicals to their primary plastics as needed, including plasticizers, colorants, fillers, heat stabilizers, lubricants and the like. Many of these additives have very high toxicity, such as bisphenol A, phthalates or phthalates, a variety of brominated flame retardants and so on.


Whatever the reason, once the poison plastic is present, its production, use, disposal and regeneration process may release toxic and harmful substances continuously, causing environmental pollution and harming people's health.

Thus, an important part of the prevention and control of plastic garbage pollution is to prevent the intentional addition of toxic chemicals in plastics with the plastic recycling process into the new plastic products, as well as to prevent plastic in the process of conversion of new harmful substances.
