Compared with the metal, ceramics, glass and other traditional materials, the shortcomings of plastic is that heat resistance is not high, which often limits its use in high temperature occasions.
In plastic materials, different kinds of plastic heat resistance is different; some heat is very low, and some are higher. Heat-resistant plastic generally refers to the heat distortion temperature of 200 ℃ above a class of plastic products.
The ways to measure heat resistance of plastic products are good or bad is according to heat distortion temperature, Martin heat temperature and Vicat softening point, of which the most commonly used is heat distortion temperature.
According to the plastic heat resistance of the size, the plastic will be divided into the following four categories:
① low heat-resistant plastic, which the hot deformation temperature is less than 100 ℃ of a class of resin. Specific varieties are: PE, PS, PVC, PET, PBT, ABS and PMMA. However, some of the plastic products are disposable, which can easily become the white pollution, so plastic recycling such as polystyrene recycling is very necessary to protect our environment.
②the hot deformation temperature of heat-resistant plastic is 100 ~ 200 ℃ between a class of resin. Specific varieties are: PP, PVF, PVDC, PSF, PPO and PC, and so on.
③the hot deformation temperature of high heat-resistant plastic between 200 ~ 300 ℃. The thermal deformation temperature of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) is up to 240 ℃, the thermal deformation temperature of chlorinated polyether can reach 2l0 ℃, the heat distortion temperature of polyarylsulfone (PAR) can reach 280 ℃, PEEK Hot deformation temperature of up to 230 ℃, POB thermal deformation temperature of up to 260 ~ 300C, Fused PI heat distortion temperature of 270 ~ 280 ℃, amino plastic heat distortion temperature of 240 ℃, EP heat distortion temperature of up to 230 ℃, PF heat distortion temperature up to 200 ℃.
④the ultra-high heat-resistant plastic which hot deformation temperature greater than 300 ℃ of a class of resin. The heat distortion temperature of polyphenylene imidazole
(PBI) can reach 435 ℃, and the heat distortion temperature of non-fusion PI can reach 360 ℃.
