Expanded Polystyrene Foam Tablets and Other Marine Garbage

Floating garbage in the marine is mainly foamed polystyrene foam sheet, plastic bags and plastic bottles. The average number of litter and parcel floating debris is 30 per square kilometer; and the average number of floating litter in the middle and small blocks is 2206 per square kilometer and the average density is 20 kilograms per square kilometer. Polystyrene foam is the largest quantity of waste plastic, accounting for 46%, followed by is the plastic foam outside this object, accounting for 31%. In other words, a total of plastic is 77%. 91%  of the surface litter is from land-based and 9% is from ffshore.


Submarine waste mainly for plastic bags and plastic bottles, the average number is 720 / km², the average density of 100 kg / km². The largest number of plastic garbage is accounting for 84%.

Beach garbage is mainly plastic bags, expanded polystyrene and plastic bottles and so on. The average number is 50,142 per square kilometer and the average density is 3119 kilograms per square kilometer. Plastic garbage (not including foam) the largest number, accounting for 49%, followed by polystyrene foam, accounting for 22%. The plastics category accounts for 71% of the total beach waste. 86% of beach waste comes from land, and 14% from the sea activities.


In view as these situations, we should take actions immediately to protect the marine. The plastic recycling may be a good way. After we recycle these waste plastic through polystyrene compactor, we can process and reuse them. EPS can easily be recycled into new foam packaging or durable consumer goods like cameras, coat hangers, CD jewel cases and more. You can recycle your EPS packaging by taking it to a specified drop off location.
